Cody coordinates the implementation of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives to improve campus climate and acts as a resourceful contact for College students, staff, and faculty. He develops programming and materials that foster community engagement, helps CLAS students from marginalized communities navigate and resolve problems, and produces audio-visual projects and web content that focuses on KU DEI resources. Cody works in close communication with the Provost Office for Diversity & Equity under Vice Provost for Diversity & Equity Dr. Jennifer Hamer, and is an ardent advocate for social justice and intercultural experience.

Cody joined the Office of the Dean in July, 2016. Prior to this position, he worked for the KU Office of International Programs as the Global Awareness Program Coordinator from 2013-2016. Cody earned his MA in Ethnomusicology (Music and Cultural Anthropology) from the University of Washington in 2008. He received a Fulbright fellowship for musicology research in Tunisia in 2009-2010, and was the recipient of numerous FLAS awards for the study of the French language and pedagogy. He has conducted research on various forms of music and performance in Tunisia, Quebec, and Ghana.
