Chancellor's and Dean's Doctoral Fellowships

The Chancellor's Doctoral Fellowships strengthen KU's recruitment of the very best doctoral students.  Each year, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences selects six doctoral programs to receive one fellowship each.  These programs award the Fellowship to their most promising new doctoral student.  Chancellor's Fellows have the opportunity to serve as both GTAs and GRAs during their five years of doctoral study, and receive a $25,000 annual stipend plus resident rate tuition and required fees.

This year the Dean has made available five additional Dean's Doctoral Fellowships.  These new awards are intended to promote a culture of grant-seeking among the College's doctoral students and academic units.  For these awards, the review committee will consider a department's readiness to support grant-seeking among its graduate students, in addition to the criteria established for the Chancellor's Doctoral Fellowship. Fellows receive a stipend (ranging between $20,000-$22,000) plus resident rate tuition and required fees for up to five years of doctoral study.

For more information, see the Chancellor's Doctoral Fellowship Call for Applications and the Dean's Fellowship Announcement. To apply for either or both of these awards, please use the following Application Form. Deadline: noon (12:00 p.m.), Friday, September 16, 2016
