Enrollment Changes Guide

During the course of study, graduate students may need to visit COGA to seek College endorsements for adding or dropping a course, late enrollment, or withdrawing from all coursework.

Different rules apply for Short Courses.  Please contact COGA for more information.

Withdraw from all courses for the semester before the first day of classes

Withdraw from all courses for the current semester prior to the publish last day to drop (60th day)

Leave of Absence Petition (if the student wishes to retain his or her place in the graduate program); or

Voluntary Discontinue (if the student does not wish to retain his or her place in the graduate

Leave of Absence and Voluntary Discontinue must be initiated by the department via the online PtD system.

Withdraw from a course enrolled in during a previous semester when a grade has been entered for the course.

CLAS Retroactive Withdrawal Petition (available from COGA upon request)

Department, then COGA; final approval by the Petitions Sub-committee of the Committee on Graduate Studies

Withdraw from a course after the last day for withdrawal, but before a final grade has been entered.  This may include “I” or “WG”
