Cody is the Administrative Assistant to the Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Dr. Jennifer Hamer (Chair of American Studies and professor of African and African-American Studies).  He is responsible for assisting the Dean with planning, organization, technology, progress reports, research, and scheduling/preparing meetings and events for all matters related toward advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the College.  He is an ardent advocate for social justice and intercultural experience. 

Cody joined the Office of the Dean in July, 2016. Prior to this position, he worked for the KU Office of International Programs as the Global Awareness Program Coordinator from 2013-2016. Cody earned his MA in Ethnomusicology (Music and Cultural Anthropology) from the University of Washington in 2008. He received a Fulbright fellowship for musicology research in Tunisia in 2009-2010, and was the recipient of numerous FLAS awards for the study of the French language and pedagogy. He has conducted research on various forms of music and performance in Tunisia, Quebec, and Ghana.
