Dean’s Student Advisory Council (DSAC)

College of Liberal Arts & Sciences

The Dean’s Student Advisory Council is an outstanding group of students who advise and make recommendations to the dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences on a number of issues facing students. Those issues include, but are not limited to: The purpose of DSAC shall be to advise and make recommendations to the dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences on:

  • Academic programs, curricula and undergraduate advising;
  • College budget priorities for discretionary funds;
  • Long-range and strategic plan development; and
  • Research and teaching facilities.

In addition to their monthly meetings, DSAC members represent the College at a variety of campus, alumni and student events. DSAC members are expected to be present at every meeting of the council unless prior notice has been given to the council’s advising staff member. Council members are also expected to attend at least one special event, hosted by the dean or DSAC, per semester unless prior notice has been given to the council’s advising staff member.
